"...a picture of my work station, i.e., my dining room table, at which I conduct all things geologic, minus the field work -- grading, making lectures, screaming at my computer because it is slow, dreaming of post-doctoral work, avoiding my PhD work...you get the idea. Anyway, I think it reflects a lot of what I think about these days, or wish I would think about. With teaching I haven't been able to work on the research and it stresses me out. I feel like I am falling behind on lots of things. This week is the BIG geologic conference in San Francisco and I couldn't go because of money issues, so there goes all the networking opportunities and hear comes the feelings of being scooped and my research not being relevant...bleh. It occurred to me today that being bogged down in all the data/work I've done, I feel like I am missing the big picture. Maybe that will come into better focus soon; I hope it does."

today. i am wishywashy. all my scraps are getting mushed together and none of them look pretty to me, they just look like the garbage at the bottom of my purse. i would prefer if this blog only looked beautiful, but sometimes that isnt the case i suppose.
